DB2 DBA/RPG Programmer

Responsibilities:

• Manage DB2 databases on the IBM i platform
• Support the design and implementation of new database environments
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of IBM i DB2 databases
• Troubleshoot database performance issues
• Manage database objects such as libraries, views, tables, stored procedures, and triggers
• Support developers and testing team by maintaining test environments
• Work with application development teams to develop data models
• Ensure DB changes adhere to best practices
• Review proposed database changes
• Create technical support documentation
• Act as an SME on IBMI database structure and environment

Skills:

• 10+ years of IBMi/iSeries/AS400 experience
• 7+ years of experience supporting DB2 for IBM i databases
• Expert knowledge of DB2 for I SQL language
• Experience optimizing database performance
• Advanced knowledge of trigger concepts
• In-depth experience diagnosing and remediating Db2 for iDatabase performance issues
• Expert knowledge of modern RPG programming language
• Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
• Hands-on experience using system performance tools
• Experience using change management tools
