Database Administrator

Responsibilities

Very strong hands-on experience with heterogeneous database migration from DB2 to PostgreSQL
Database Design and determine a best approach for Database migration, including data conversion, schema changes and any application modifications with stored procedures, functions etc.
Analyze current query patterns and create an efficient indexing strategy for performance optimization on PostgreSQL
Develop and execute Migration plan
Migrate Database, schemas, data and permissions
Test and validate the migrated database for data consistency, data integrity, schema consistency and application functionality
Troubleshoot, resolve, and document migration issues
Collaboration with Application teams

10+ years of Strong experience with DB2 and PostgreSQL
5+ years of Database Migration experience, both homogenous and heterogenous
Experience w/ Data Migration tools like pg_dump or pg_restore or pg_admin
10+ years of DBA experience on Linux based platforms
Expert skills on DB backup/restore, database monitoring, security, access for both DB2 and PostgreSQL
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

A bachelor's degree
10+ years of Experience in database administration of PostgreSQL and DB2 deliverables
