Oracle HCM Payroll Module SME
Responsibilities
- We are seeking an experienced Oracle HCM Payroll Module SME to lead and support the design, configuration, implementation, and ongoing management of Oracle HCM Cloud Payroll solutions
- The SME will play a key role in ensuring payroll operations are compliant, efficient, and aligned with business and regulatory requirements
- This role requires deep functional knowledge of Oracle Payroll Cloud and close collaboration with HR, Finance, and IT teams
- Configure and maintain Oracle Payroll components such as elements, fast formulas, balance definitions, payroll definitions, costing, and retro-pay
- Troubleshoot and resolve payroll-related issues including calculation discrepancies and integrations
- Develop and maintain documentation for payroll processes, configurations, and user training
- Collaborate with Oracle and vendors to resolve open issues and apply system patches or updates as needed
Skills
- Must have 10+ years of experience in Oracle HCM Cloud, with at least 3 years of hands-on Oracle Payroll Cloud experience
- Act as the subject matter expert for Oracle Cloud Payroll, leading end-to-end configuration and support of payroll processes
- Partner with HR, Finance, and IT to gather business requirements and translate them into system configurations and solutions
- Ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing for multiple countries or business units (if applicable)
- Support payroll parallel testing, reconciliations, go-live, and post-production stabilization activities
- Monitor system performance and ensure payroll runs meet accuracy, compliance, and timeline standards
- Provide guidance on statutory compliance (e.g., tax reporting, garnishments, benefits processing, etc.)
- Work closely with technical teams on inbound/outbound integrations with time, benefits, accounting, and banking systems
- In-depth knowledge of payroll processing, tax rules, retroactive pay, and costing in Oracle Cloud
- Strong experience with fast formulas, legislative data, and statutory compliance
- Proficiency in payroll-related data loads using HDL and Spreadsheet Loader
- Familiarity with payroll integrations (e.g., banking files, GL posting, tax vendors)
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education plus relevant experience
