Database Manager - Philanthropy Dept.
Responsibilities
- Serve as primary system administrator for the Philanthropy Department.
- Ensure optimal performance of CiviCRM system and products.
- Plan and design an optimal system to align with expected revenue growth.
- Track donations and ongoing fundraising activities based on sales and lead generation.
- Analyze data with the director to drive strategies related to improved engagement and fundraising.
- Handle basic administrative functions including user maintenance and report generation.
- Take ownership of requests for system improvements and implement changes.
- Automate processes using Civi tools such as process builder and validation rules.
- Manage integrations and APIs not handled by developers.
- Identify, install, and maintain appropriate APIs for event management and online donations.
- Train new users and enhance database usage skills across the department.
- Document processes, customizations, and changes to field history tables.
- Manage CiviCRM roles, profiles, sharing rules, workflows, and groups.
- Import sales/fundraising leads and contacts into the database.
- Manage dashboards and streamline fundraising reporting.
Skills
- B.A. degree or higher in database management or computer science and administration.
- CiviCRM open source certified administrator or database certified administrator.
- 5 - 7 years of experience as a database administrator in a similar environment.
- Strong understanding of the Civi database platform and ability to build custom apps and objects.
- Experience working with Civi database in an environment that includes an API aggregator.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and articulate complex database processes.
- In-depth knowledge of CiviCRM or Salesforce CRM products and their functionalities.

Qualifications
- Knowledge of working in a Nonprofit environment with nonprofit database experience (Salesforce, Microsoft, CiviCRM).
- Excellent project management skills and a positive attitude.
- Creative and analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to critically evaluate and prioritize information from multiple sources.
